1. Unlimited Mobile Plan

Unlimited Talk, TXT and data is for personal use only.

Unlimited Data: Speeds will be reduced to a maximum of 1.2mbps once mobile data usage reaches 40GB on the Unlimited Open Term plan. Video streaming quality is optimised to a maximum of 480p / SD quality. Use of data through sharing, tethering or using your device as a hotspot is prohibited unless the Hotspot add-on has been purchased. Data is available for use within the Vodafone New Zealand network only. If you roam overseas then data charges will apply, including using your monthly data allowance as part of a Daily Roaming charge. Refer to Daily Roaming Terms and Conditions.

Unlimited talk and TXT is for standard person-to-person calls and TXTs to standard NZ and Oz numbers. Excludes use overseas and premium and special numbers (i.e.short-codes). Unlimited TXT is for personal use only. As long as you’re talking to another person, or using your fingers to TXT them, unlimited talk and TXT is for you.

However, unlimited talk and TXT is not for you if you plan to do any of the following: multiple simultaneous calling, re-supply, call centre usage, telemarketing, bulk messaging, application-to-person communication, continuously call forwarding, auto-dialling, machine to machine communication (including by using your SIM card in any other device) Cellular Trunking Units (CTUs), or any other activity that Vodafone considers to be non-standard usage. Standard rates apply for other usage.

Unlimited talk and TXT does not include calls or TXTs to Australian external territories (including Norfolk Island) or satellite services.

2. Hotspot
Hotspot add-on is only available on the Unlimited mobile plan. An additional monthly charge applies. A hotspot capable device is required. The Hotspot add on lets you share your Vodafone network connection with other wifi enabled devices allowing them to use your plan data. Data used through your Hotspot add-on will count towards your plan usage, speeds will reduce at 40GB. Maximum video streaming quality is 480p/SD. You can cancel your Hotspot add on at any time. If you cancel part way through a billing cycle a pro-rata credit will be applied to your account.

3. Roaming
Daily Roaming is available on the Unlimited Plan. For a daily charge, you can use your plan minutes, TXT and data in selected Daily Roaming destinations. Usual plan charges apply. A daily fee applies for each day you make/receive calls, send TXTs or use data in the Daily Roaming destination (valid until midnight NZ time) up to 90 consecutive days. Simplified rates apply to other destinations. See Daily Roaming terms.

4. Charging
For mobile and landline calls, some calls such as calls to 123 and other service numbers for other Network Operators may be charged at higher rates. It is your responsibility to check the applicable rate. Calls are charged at the rate which is applicable when the call is started. For charging and calculation purposes, all calls will be rounded up to the next full minute. These will then be deducted from your included minutes, or you will be charged accordingly. For example, if you make a call for one minute and 40 seconds this call will be rounded up to two minutes and two minutes will be deducted from your allocation, or charged at the appropriate rate. If you call a 0900, calling card access number, audio conference or any other special number you will be charged additional rates as published by the relevant service provider.

5. Phone Insurance
To qualify for Phone Insurance the customer must have purchased their phone from Vodafone New Zealand. If a Customer transfers or re-signs to a Plan where phone insurance is not included as part of that Plan, the customer will relinquish phone insurance, as it will not automatically carry over to the new Plan as a chargeable Add-On. If the Customer wishes to continue to receive phone insurance, they must contact Vodafone to purchase the phone insurance Add-On. See Phone Insure Terms and Conditions.

6. Invoice Charging
We reserve the right to charge Customers a monthly or one off charge for bills sent by post. No charge applies to bills sent by email.

7. Support Charges
In accordance with our standard Consumer Terms and Mobile Terms and Conditions, Vodafone at its discretion, reserves the right to charge customers on specific Plans or Packages for instore technical support and administration services. We will inform Customers of these charges prior to providing the service. These services may include but are not limited to instore device tutorials, personalisation of device settings, and processing of Bill payments made instore, by Credit Card, or through an assisted channel such as 777 or 888.

8. Text messages
For text messages, a single text message has a limit of 160 standard characters. If you go over this, most devices will break the message into segments with a maximum length of 153 standard characters. You’re then charged your text message rate for each segment sent. Some character sets, such as non-English language keyboards as well as emojis and emoticons, have a 70 character limit per text message and 67 characters per segment. If your message contains special characters, such as emojis, your device may send it as a picture message, or as multiple text messages. If this happens, you’ll be charged for each of those text messages or picture messages.

9. Voicemail
For voicemail, we may limit the number and duration of messages that can be left on your voicemail service.
