One NZ DNS settings | Flush your cache

This article is to help you check that your DNS settings for your One NZ broadband account are correct.
By default, your computer should be setup to automatically detect Domain Name Server (DNS) settings. If you have web pages that are not loading or slow to load, the cause could be your TCP/IP settings (e.g. adding a static IP or using the wrong DNS numbers).

Check your One NZDNS settings match

  • Primary DNS:  203.109.191.1
  • Secondary DNS:  203.118.191.1

If there is only one DNS field (e.g. on a Mac), you can enter both DNS numbers separated with a comma. If entering the DNS numbers does not allow web pages to load, check that your DNS settings are set to automatic.
Still having web page loading issues?
If you still have web browsing problems, i.e. they don't load on one machine but are fine on another, you can try resetting the DNS by flushing, or resetting, the DNS Cache on your computer.

Reset the DNS Cache for Windows

  1. Click Run from your Start menu
  2. Type cmd
  3. After the C:\> type ipconfig/flushdns

If you are using Windows 7 or later and get the prompt "The requested operation requires elevation", click Yes to complete the operation.

Reset the DNS Cache for Mac OS X

  1. Open Terminal from your applications folder
    After $, type

  5. sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder (Mac OS Mavericks, Mountain Lion and Lion)

  7. sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder (Mac OS 10.10.4 and later)
