Three-Way Calling | User guides for voice calling over broadband

This article explains how to manage Three-Way Calling on VoIP for ADSL/VDSL, Fibre or HFC connections.

This home phone calling feature enables people in three different locations in NZ or across the world to join in on the same phone call.

Before you begin

There is a monthly fee for Three Way Calling .

To Three-Way Calling, please call us on 0508 888 800.

Three Way Calling is available in most areas.

For calls outside of your local calling area (including mobile and international), charges apply to the person who dials the chargeable number.

Steps

Connect Three-Way Calling

  1. Dial the second location - wait for them to answer 
  2. Press the recall or flash button on the phone to put the second location on hold - you will hear the engaged tone then the standard dial tone 
  3. Dial the third location - when they answer, you are in a private phone call and can't be heard by the second location


    When you are ready, press the recall or flash button to connect all three locations


    Some customers may need to press 3 after pressing the recall or flash button to connect Three Way Calls.
  4. If the third location does not answer or their phone line is engaged, press the recall or flash button twice to go back to the original call


    Some customers may need to press 1 after pressing the recall or flash button to return to the original call

Disconnect Three-Way Calling

  1. Simply hang up or ask one of the locations to hang up if their part of the call is finished
  2. To disconnect the third location while keeping the original call going, press the recall or flash button briefly


    Some customers may need to press 1 after pressing the recall or flash button to return to the original call
