Fix issues with Mobile Broadband

Issues connecting using your Vodafone Mobile Broadband device? Try these troubleshooting steps.

Quick steps to fix a mobile broadband connection i.e. using a Vodem or Pocket WiFi.

  • Turn off your PC or laptop. Shut down your device and disconnect from it.
  • Check the SIM card is correctly inserted in the device.
  • Turn on your PC or laptop on and boot up the Vodafone Mobile Broadband (VMB) software
  • Once the software is running, please connect your Mobile Broadband device.
  • Then open the VMC software, wait for it to detect your device and establish a signal, and attempt to connect again.
  • If your device does not connect, note the bars of coverage showing in the Vodafone software. If there are less than 2 bars you may not be able to reliably connect.
  • Check your 3G or 4G coverage.

If you have used older versions of the Vodafone Mobile Connect (VMC) software on your PC or laptop you must uninstall this first before attempting to install a new Vodafone mobile broadband device or software.
If none of these work, do give us a call on 777 and we'll try to get you back up and running ASAP.

If the issue is a new one, check that there is a mobile signal available - if you have a mobile phone see if it's showing a network connection. If you have a laptop it's often useful to determine if the issue is just in one location, or wherever you go (meaning its probably not the network). If your Vodem is getting a network signal it will display a blinking Blue-Green indicator light, connection bars are shown on Pocket WiFis.
