About part-month charges on your bill
Details about how part-month charges work
A part-month charge may appear on your bill if you're a new customer or an existing customer who has changed plans during their billing cycle. This is because your connection date or the date that you have changed your services may not be the same as your billing date.
New to Vodafone - First bill
If you're new to Vodafone, your first bill may include:
Month in advance charge
This is the charge which begins on your billing cycle date and includes a full month in advance charge. It is how we how plan charges will normally appear on your bill
Part Month Charge
The part month charge applies from your sign-up date up until your first billing cycle date. Because your plan is charged in advance, these are the backdated charges that apply for the days when your plan was active, but we hadn't billed your for yet.
You sign up to a plan 8th June and are assigned a billing date of the 1st of each month.
- Part-month charge: Applies from 8th -30th June
- Full month charge: Applies from 1st July- 31st July
Current Vodafone customer - Changed plans
If you're a current Vodafone customer and you recently changed your plan, your next bill may include:
This is a credit for the days you were no longer on your old plan, which you had already paid for in advance
Part Month Charge
The part month are the backdated charges that apply for the days when your new plan was active, but we haven't billed you for yet.
New Plan Month in advance charge
This is your new plan's charge. It begins at the start of your billing cycle and includes a full month in advance charge.
You changed to a new plan on 8th June and you're billed on the 1st of each month. On your next bill, you will see the following:
- Part month charge: 8th June - 30th June
The days you were on the new plan before we started billing you in advance
- Part month credit: 1st June - 7th June
A credit for the in-advance payment you made for your old plan
- Full month charge: 1st July - 31st July
The charge for your new plan - this is the normal plan change you will see in the future
