About medical alarms and broadband

Details about how medical alarms work with Fibre and VoIP connections

If you have or are moving your broadband to fibre (UFB) connection and have a medical alarm currently working through the fibre broadband connection, please note that St John has mobile medical alarms available.

Having a mobile medical alarm will ensure your alarm still operates if you lose your internet connection or if there is a power cut.

If you have Voice calling over broadband (VOIP)

Call the company that monitors your alarm to find out if it relies on your phone line. If it does, they will very likely be able to work through a solution for you. If not, give us a call on 0800 891 740 so we talk through next steps.
