A generous benefits package
We value the energy, enthusiasm and ideas that our people bring to work every day. And we know it’s not enough to simply say ‘good onya’. So we’ve come up with a bunch of special benefits that apply to everyone working permanently at Vodafone. Here are the icing-on-the-cake extras you’ll get as a Vodafone employee.
One of the perks of working for Vodafone is a smartphone, as well as a fully-subsidised Smart plan to give you the talk, TXT and data you need to appreciate smartphone ownership. You’ll receive your smart companion on your first day at Vodafone.
Health and life insurance
As a permanent employee of Vodafone, you’ll be eligible for fully-subsidised (that’s right, nothing to pay!) Southern Cross health insurance. The cover supplied is Regular Care and it applies to you and your immediate family. Permanent employees also get life and terminal illness cover for two times their base salary.
Paid parental leave
Vodafone’s Phased Return to Work scheme gives new parents the flexibility to spend more time with their baby (or babies!). In addition to this, Vodafone adds to the government's paid parental leave entitlement of 22 weeks to top you up to 100% of your normal earning. Because we’re at our best when you’re at yours! We also offer two weeks of paid paternity/partner’s leave to our employees supporting their partner in those first weeks.
To help stop the spread of influenza, everyone at Vodafone is offered a free flu shot once a year. It won’t hurt (well maybe just a bit) and it could save you a lot of pain and snuffling.
Double your $$ fundraising
Vodafone has strong local roots and is committed to doing what’s right. The Vodafone New Zealand Foundation offers matched funding for staff through our Double Your $$ programme. Permanent staff members can donate or raise funds for any registered charity in New Zealand and we will double any amount over $100 and up to $3000 per year.
Vodafone wants you to be your best at, and outside of, work. At Vodafone you can purchase an extra week or two of annual leave for greater flexibility to manage your time away from work.
Learn while you earn
We help our Vodafoners build their careers and reach their potential. The Vodafone Qualifications Programme can translate what you are doing in your normal working day into real, valuable NZQA accredited qualifications. Our people have access to a sweet as suite of e-learning and industry training opportunities.
Because everyone loves a good deal, our employees get to access to great discounts from over 70 retailers across New Zealand. To top it all off, we also let your whanau experience Vodafone at extraordinary value with our special family and friends offers on a range of mobile and broadband plans.
Health and wellbeing
Vodafone prioritises the wellbeing of its people, and offers a range of health and wellbeing options. The wellbeing initiative includes health surveillance and in those times when you need someone to talk to, we give you access to a confidential support, guidance and counselling service, which is available 24/7, 365 days a year.
