iSKY with Vodafone

What is iSKY?

iSKY works much like your SKY subscription, allowing you to access content from the SKY channels you subscribe to and watch them on your PC or Mac anytime you want.

How can I get iSKY unmetered with Vodafone?

What is unmetered iSKY?

iSKY is unmetered on Vodafone's fixed-line home broadband plans. That means you can watch all the iSKY content you want at home without it counting toward your monthly broadband usage.

Do I have to be a SKY subscriber to access iSKY?

Yes, initially iSKY will be available to SKY TV subscribers only and will be based on your existing SKY package entitlements. How much does iSKY cost?

iSKY has both free content, and content you can rent.

You'll get access to a wide range of TV shows and movies at no extra cost as long as the selected shows are within your SKY TV subscription entitlements.

In addition you can choose to rent TV shows and movies using your credit card. (If your SKY TV account is billed through Vodafone any content you rent in the iSKY STORE will be charged automatically to your Vodafone fixed line bill). Content of this type is priced as follows.

  • Movies Box Office Rental: $6.99
  • Movies Library Rental: $4.99
  • Series Rental: $2.99 per episode
  • Series Rental: from $32.99 per complete series

And best of all, iSKY does not count toward your monthly broadband usage when you have fixed broadband with Vodafone.

What do I need to access iSKY?

To start using iSKY on your computer, you'll need

  • A valid SKY TV subscription
  • A valid SKY ID linked to your SKY TV account
  • A computer that meets the minimum requirements (see below)
  • A broadband internet connection

What are the minimum requirements for my computer?

To be able to access and view content on iSKY you'll need:

Software

  • Adobe Flash Player version 10 (this is the player type used to view content). This can be downloaded for free at www.adobe.com
  • A supported internet browser:
  • Microsoft internet Explorer (version 7+)
  • Mozilla Firefox (version 3+)
  • Google Chrome
  • Apple Safari (version 3+)

Computer

  • CPU - 1.5GHz or higher
  • RAM - 512 MB or higher
  • Sound - 16 bit sound or higher
  • Display - 1024x768 resolution + 16 bit colour or higher

Operating system

  • Windows XP (Service pack 2+)

  • Mac OS X (version 10+)
  • Other operating systems may be configured to use iSKY but these are unsupported

Broadband

  • Broadband connection with a minimum speed of 1Mbps. You can check your broadband speed now
  • Different streaming rates will be available for customers depending on their broadband connection speed

What is the quality of viewing on iSKY?

iSKY brings you standard definition (SD) content optimised for high quality, full screen playback on your PC. To ensure you get a good iSKY experience, check that your computer meets the minimum requirements (see above).

Do I have to be connected to the internet to access iSKY?

Yes, iSKY streams content to your computer so you'll need to be connected to the Internet to browse and view content.

Do I have to download a whole program with iSKY before I watch it?

No, iSKY streams content to your computer so you'll be able to watch it as it downloads. You may see the player buffering from time to time, this ensures the download is always ahead of where you're up to in the program.

Can I use iSKY on my iPhone or iPad?

No, iSKY is not compatible with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch devices as it uses the Adobe Flash Player.

Is ESPN3.com on iSKY counted towards my fixed broadband usage?

Yes, ESPN3.com on iSKY is not un-metered and will count toward your fixed broadband usage.
