Windows Live Hotmail TXT alerts let you know as soon as you receive an email by sending a TXT to your mobile- so you can keep up to date with your inbox when you're out and about.
You can customise Hotmail TXT alerts to your preferences, based on the sender's name, email address or keywords in the Subject, To or Cc line. For example, you may choose to only receive alerts for emails from your mum, your bank or Trade Me.
The Hotmail TXT service costs 20c to receive each TXT alert and 20c to reply by TXT. You cannot use TXTs included in your pricing plan or Add-Ons
Hotmail TXT alerts show you the start of an email and a link that takes you straight to Hotmail on your mobile so you can read the email in full. Standard data rates apply to use the internet on your mobile.
You can also manage your email by using commands in your TXT, by using the codes below. TXT the command below to the shortcode 8555 to perform the appropriate function. For example, to view your inbox TXT 'I' to 8555.
