Things you need to know

Plan transfers aren’t allowed from Smart Data plans other than within the Smart Data plan family. Vodafone On Account Mobile Terms & Conditions apply.

  • 4G upgrade enables access to 4G LTE service that requires a 4G capable handset or tablet, and 4G coverage. See vodafone.co.nz/4G for more information.
  • Each call has a minimum charge of 1 minute. After the first minute, calls will be charged on a per second basis.
  • Voicemail is charged at 20c per call for Smart Data plans.
  • Calls to NZ landlines don’t include calls to special numbers such as those starting with 123, 018, 0900.
  • TXT messages are limited to 160 characters. If your TXT exceeds this limit, TXT message will be sent as two or more TXTs and applicable charges apply.
  • If you cancel or change a Smart Data plan before the term end date you must pay the applicable fee (this could be an early termination, plan transfer or resign fee). The fee you pay could be up to 50% of the full monthly access fee multiplied by the number of months left on the term.
  • Plan transfers aren’t allowed from Smart Data plans other than within the Smart Data plan family. This includes transfers to Smart and Business Smart Data. Applicable plan transfer fees may apply. Find out more about plan cancellation or change fees.

Buying a 4G Add-On

If your plan doesn't include a 4G Add-On, then you can follow these four simple steps to buy one:

 

Please ensure you have a 4G-compatible device (otherwise 4G will not work)


Add-Ons are purchased through My Account, so the first step would be to sign into My Account - you can do this from any page on the website using the dark grey dropdown in the top right hand corner of your screen.

If you're not registered with My Account, please first register here. It'll only take 1 minute!

Once you're signed in, click My Plan & Add-Ons from the left hand menu (select the mobile number you want to buy the Add-On for if you have more than one).

On the My Plans & Add-Ons page, scroll down and click the Buy other Add-Ons button.

 

You need to have billing account level access to purchase Add-ons

  • Scroll down to the 4G Access Add-On group and click the Select button for the 4G Add-On
  • Follow the purchasing steps that appear next.
  • Once the order has completed the 4G Add-On will be added to your plan.
