HotLink: Easy top up or bill payment

HotLink lets your mobile work just like your EFTPOS card. You dial in the amount to pay, enter your EFTPOS PIN number and you’ve topped up your Prepay balance or paid your On Account bill. The funds go direct from your bank account and the payment is instant, so your Prepay or On Account balance will be topped up right away.

You can use HotLink anytime and anywhere you have coverage - even overseas in Australia, the UK and Spain. You can make a payment on your own balance, or top up your friends’ or family’s mobiles.

Is it secure?

Banks are satisfied that your account will not be at risk, even if your mobile was stolen, and we’re satisfied that the security of our encrypted mobile network and the HotLink registration process will protect you. Of course, if your mobile is stolen, please contact us straight away.

Registering for HotLink

A quick compatibility check

FREE TXT the name of your bank to 262, from your normal mobile. We’ll tell from your TXT if your mobile is compatible with HotLink and whether your bank has joined HotLink.

We will let you know by return TXT if:

  • You can register for HotLink now, or
  • Your bank isn’t yet on board - and we’ll send you a TXT when they are, or
  • You might need to upgrade to a sim2 card

Registering with your bank

ASB

  1. Visit the ASB website and login to FastNet Classic
  2. Select the ‘Mobile Banking’ menu
  3. Select ‘Mobile Top-up’
  4. Choose ‘Vodafone’ from the mobile phone provider list
  5. Enter the mobile number to register for payments
  6. Select the bank account you want your payments to be made from
  7. Choose a password to use each time you make a payment - enter it twice
  8. Click the Terms & Conditions link to read them
  9. Tick the box to confirm you’ve read and accepted the Terms & Conditions
  10. Click ‘Next’
  11. Click ‘Yes’ to complete the setup

BNZ

Using any BNZ ATM:

  1. Select ‘Other Services’
  2. Select ‘Vodafone Services’
  3. Select ‘Vodafone HotLink’
  4. Follow the instructions to register your mobile and choose which account to use for payments

TSB Bank

  1. Visit the TSB website and login to TSB HomeBank Internet Banking
  2. Select ‘Services’ from the menu
  3. Select ‘Mobile Top Up’
  4. Follow the instructions to register your mobile

When you use HotLink for the first time, confirm your account by entering the long number on the front of your ATM card. Then you're ready to go!

Using HotLink

Once set up, any payment takes just a few seconds.

  1. Once set up, select the Vodafone menu on your mobile
  2. Select ‘My Account’
  3. Select ‘Top Up/Pay Account’
  4. Select ‘My Mobile’ or ‘Other Mobile’
  5. Select which account to pay from
  6. Enter the amount you want to pay
  7. Enter your EFTPOS card PIN number (BNZ or TSB)

Please note: Minimum payment is $20 for Prepay and $5 for On Account. Each HotLink transaction is an EFTPOS transaction so your standard bank rate for EFTPOS transactions applies.

 

HotLink FAQs

Can I top up other mobiles?

Yes, you can top up your mates on Vodafone. Choose the “Other Mobile” option and the amount and you’re done! Your friend will receive a TXT telling them that you have bought them airtime and you will also receive a confirmation TXT.

How will I know my transaction has been successful?

After a HotLink top up you will get a TXT to advise that the transaction has been successful.

On Account payments can take up to 2 hours to apply against the due balance, this is the same as all other payment methods.

How does it appear on my bank statement?

Every successful HotLink transaction will be recorded on your bank statement as ‘Vodafone HotLink’.

What are the minimum amounts?

The HotLink minimum payment amount for Prepay is $20 and On Account is $5.
