One handset does
two jobs
With Vodafone local zone, one mobile phone can do two jobs. When you're out and about your mobile is a mobile, but the moment you arrive home, your mobile becomes your home phone.
Just like that, when you're at home you can call other home phones at a standard landline rate and they can call you for the same.
When you're out any calls made to your home phone will go straight to your mobile phone voicemail and you'll receive a TXT to say that you've got a new message.
Even better, you can keep your existing home phone number. Yes, life just got easier.
You'll need to be on a You Choose plan to get Vodafone local zone, have a compatible handset and 256k SIM card.
To add local zone to your plan, just head into any Vodafone retail store. They'll check you have a compatible handset, and either assign you a new home phone number, or transfer your existing number onto your local zone plan.

You need to have a You Choose mobile plan to get local zone. You can add local zone to your You choose mobile plan for less than the cost of a traditional home phone line. There are two local zone rate plans to choose from, depending on how you like to make calls at home. All prices are inclusive of GST.
You can also package this with 3G broadband
You will also need a 3G broadband device. A Vodem Stick is free with the 3G broadband everyday plan (1GB) and free with the 3G broadband pro plan on a 24 month term.
Call waiting and caller ID are free on Vodafone. Voicemail is already included in your You Choose plan (0.20c per call to voicemail). Add-ons like BestMates and Vodafone Family still apply in zone.
Outside of your zone your mobile rates will depend on your You Choose plan.

Follow you diversion
If you
still want to receive calls to your home phone number while you are
out and about, you can choose to add the 'follow you diversion' option
for an additional $30 a month. With 'follow you diversion' all calls
to your home number will be diverted to your mobile number, no matter
where you are within NZ.
If you roam overseas, you can opt out of the 'follow you diversion' by contacting 0800 189 189. Otherwise your land line will divert when you are overseas at roaming prices.
If you choose not to add 'follow you diversion', when people call your home number while you're out, those calls will go through to your mobile voicemail.
