Terms - Red Share for Business

These terms and conditions apply to customers who signed up Red Share for Business from the 2nd of December 2019. If you signed up prior to the 2nd of December 2019, refer to those older Red Share terms.

The following terms apply to the following Red Share for Business Data Plans and Red Share for Business Connections:

Red Share for Business Connections

In these terms and conditions, "Connections" refers to:

  • Red Share for Business Smartphone - open term
  • Red Share for Business Smartphone on a 24 month term
  • Red Share for Business Tablet - open term
  • Red Share for Business Tablet on a 24 month term

All plans and connections are also subject to our standard Business Terms.

1. Red Share for Business

Red Share for Business allows a number of Connections to share one common pool of data in a Data Plan. Red Share for Business comprises:

  • a Red Share for Business Data Plan; and
  • a number of Red Share for Business Connections, which together make up a Sharing Group.

Each Data Plan has a minimum data commitment or data allowance per connection. The total shared data allocation is made up of the combined Connection Allowances in your Sharing Group. The Red Share for Business Data Plan cannot be less than the total Connection Allowances for the Sharing Group.

The Red Share for Business Data Plan will automatically adjust to meet the minimum data commitment per connection in the data pool if you add connections. However if connections are removed the size of the data plan will not decrease automatically, but can be manually changed by an administrator month to month up to 4 hours in advance of the next bill run.

Connections must be associated with a Data Plan. Each Data Plan must have at least one Connection. Connections and Data Plans are not available to purchase on a stand-alone basis.

Only Red Share for Business Connections are able to belong to a Sharing Group and share data from a Red Share for Business Data Plan.

2. Terms

Red Share for Business Data Plans have an open term.

Red Share for Business Connections have an open term or a 24 month term. Hardware subsidies may be available if you purchase a 24 month term connection.

Any early termination of a Connection on a 24 month term before the end of that term may incur a fee as described in our change fees below.

If a Data Plan is terminated or disconnected, all Connections in the Sharing Group must be migrated to new Pricing Plans or they will also be terminated or disconnected. Connections on a 24 month term that have not reached the end of their term, but are migrated to new Pricing Plans on the termination of a Data Plan, may incur a fee as described in our change fees below.

3. Change Fees

If you terminate or change your Red Share for Business Connection before the Connection term ends, you must pay the applicable fees (these could be early termination, resign or plan transfer fees). The fee you pay could be up to 65% of the full monthly fee multiplied by the number of months left in the term.

An administration fee may also apply if you make frequent changes to your Red Share for Business Data Plans or Connections.

If you take the Interest Free Payments for Business service you must pay the outstanding amount for Interest Free Payments for Business in full prior to terminating, transferring or re-signing the Connection associated with that service. You also must pay the outstanding amount for Interest Free Payments for Business in full if One NZ terminates the eligible Connection due to your material breach or insolvency. The payment obligations in this paragraph apply in addition to the other fees mentioned above.

4. Red Share for Business Data Plans

Each Red Share for Business Connection in the Sharing Group can use the data in the Red Share for Business Data Plan, until the data allowance in the Data Plan is exhausted. All data in the Data Plan is used by the Connections in the Sharing Group on a first in first served basis. No one user will be given priority over another user in the Sharing Group. Only Administrators have the ability to manage data and top-ups, for more information refer to Flexi Data for further details.

Each Sharing Group requires you to choose at least one customer Administrator. Your Administrator:

  • will be sent a notification when the data remaining in the Data Plan reaches a pre-defined level;
  • can purchase additional data for the Connections to use, through manual data top-ups and/or automatic data top ups;
  • will be sent a notification when the data remaining in the data top-up reaches a pre-defined level, if a data top-up is purchased;
  • will be notified when all of the data in the data top-up has been consumed, if a data top-up is purchased;
  • will be notified when all of the data in the Data Plan has been consumed;
  • may view the quantity of data used by each Connection in the Sharing Group for the current billing period.
  • may monitor individual Connection data usage by allocating a data profile to a Connection.
    • Administrators can set up to 3 data profiles for the Sharing Group: for example, High (e.g. 20 GB); Medium (e.g. 5 GB) and Low (e.g. 1 GB).
    • Data profiles can be amended by Administrators at any time.
    • When a Connection has been allocated a data profile, the Connection will be notified by TXT when they have used 80% of the data profile limit; and notified again by TXT when they have used 100% of the data profile limit.
    • The Connection will not be blocked from using data remaining in the Data Plan as a result of exceeding the data limit applicable to their profile. However, Administrators are able to manually stop Connections from using shared data in the Data Plan. Administrators are also able to manually restart Connections to use shared data in the Data Plan.
  • may set up a daily notification email advising:
    • which Connections have used more than 80% of their allocated data profile;
    • which Connections have used more than 100% of their allocated data profile;

When a Red Share for Business Administrator leaves your company, please contact us to remove them from the Red Share for Business sharing group and remove their access to Administrator functions. An Administrator will continue to have Administrator access rights until you request us to remove them.

Connections in the Sharing Group will also be notified by TXT:

  • when all of the data in the Data Plan has been consumed; if a data top-up is purchased or applied (but only if they were previously provided with a notification that all of the data in the Data Plan had been consumed);
  • in the event the Connection is allocated a High, Medium or Low data notification profile;
  • if the Administrator changes the High, Medium and Low data notification profile settings for the Sharing Group or the data profile of a Connection;
  • when they reach 80% and 100% of their data notification limit; and
  • if the Administrator has stopped or started the Connection’s ability to use shared data from the Data Plan.

Administrators may purchase additional data for the Sharing Group through purchasing a manual data top-up. The manual data top-up will be applied to the Data Plan for that billing month only.

In addition, Administrators can choose to set up an automatic data top up for a Data Plan. The automatic top-up will only be applied to the Data Plan if all of the data in the Data Plan, and any manually purchased data top-ups, are exhausted. When an automatic top-up is applied the data allowance of the Sharing Group is increased by a pre-defined amount. The automatic top-up will only be charged if it is applied, and can only be applied once during a bill cycle.

If a manual data top-up or an automatic data top-up is applied to the Data Plan, and not all of the top-up data is consumed, the remainder of the top-up data will be added to the data allowance for the next month. Learn more about data top-ups here.

Other things to know:

  • Data usage is calculated in 1KB blocks.
  • Any unused data allowance within a Data Plan will not be carried forward to the following month (with the exception of data added through an automatic or manual data top-up that is not consumed in that month).
  • Any data added through a top-up which is carried forward to the following month will be used before the data allowance of the Data Plan.
  • The Administrator can request a change to the Data Plan for the following bill run up to 4 hours before the new bill run begins
  • With the exception of Daily Roaming, mobile broadband usage outside of New Zealand does not use data from your Data Plan (and is charged separately)
  • One NZ does not support Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), and can provide no assurance that currently available access levels may be maintained.
  • Administrators cannot manually stop other Administrators from using shared data from the Data Plan

5. Red Share for Business Connections (Smartphone and Tablet)

Red Share for Business Smartphone Connections and Red Share for Business Tablet Connections do not have individual data allowances. These Connections must belong to a Red Share for Business Sharing Group together with a Red Share for Business Data Plan.

Red Share for Business Tablet Connections and Red Share for Business Smartphone Connections

These Connections are able to use the data from a Red Share for Business Data Plan, until the data allowance is exhausted.

Red Share for Business Smartphone Connections only

As well as using data from a Red Share for Business Data Plan, Red Share for Business Smartphone Connections have the following services:

  • Unlimited Talk and TXT to NZ and Australia

Unlimited talk and TXT is for standard person-to-person calls and TXTs to standard NZ numbers and to standard Australian numbers. Excludes use overseas and premium and special numbers. As long as you’re talking to another person, or using your fingers to TXT them, unlimited talk and TXT is for you! However, unlimited talk and TXT is not for multiple simultaneous calling, re-supply, call centre usage, telemarketing, bulk messaging, application-to-person communication, continuously call forwarding, auto-dialling, machine to machine communication (including by using your SIM card in any other device) Cellular Trunking Units (CTUs), or any other activity that One NZ considers to be non-standard usage.

Unlimited talk and TXT does not include calls or TXTs to Australian external territories (including Norfolk Island) or satellite services.

  • Minute plus Minute charging

For charging and calculation purposes, all calls will be rounded up to the next full minute. These will then be deducted from your included minutes, or you will be charged accordingly. For example, if you make a call for one minute and 40 seconds this call will be rounded up to two minutes and two minutes will be deducted from your allocation, or charged at the appropriate rate.

  • Local Number on Mobile

When a Local Number is added to your mobile any landline services associated with that number, like broadband or fax, won't be transferred. These features cannot be added on to a mobile number.

6. 4G

4G gives you access to faster data speeds enabling you to do your thing faster when you have a 4G mobile phone or device and you're in a 4G coverage area. If a Customer transfers or resigns to a Pricing Plan where 4G capability is not included as part of that Pricing Plan, the Customer will lose 4G capability and must purchase a 4G Add-On to continue using 4G.

7. 5G

5G gives you access to even faster data speeds, enabling you to do your thing faster when you have a 5G mobile phone or device and you’re in a 5G coverage area. 5G is available on all 4G capable plans, and 5G access is available at no extra cost until 30 June 2022. From 1 July 2022 a 5G add on will be available for $8.70 per month, per connection (excluding GST).

8. Coverage

Coverage can be affected by a number of factors, including radio interference, atmospheric conditions, geographic factors, network congestion, maintenance, outages on other networks and provider sites, the configuration or limitations of your, or your intended recipient's, device or other operational or technical difficulties which means that you may not receive some or all of the Service in certain areas or at certain times.

9. Subsidies

At your request, we can pool the device subsidies offered on Red Share for Business Connections on a 24 month term at the time you sign up to Red Share for Business. You can use these pooled subsidies to purchase devices from us. Devices must be purchased at the recommended retail price at the date of purchase and must be used on Red Share for Business Connections only. Any subsidy must be used at the time of sign up, and cannot be accrued for future use.

10. Roaming

Daily Roaming will automatically apply to all Red Share for Business Smartphone and Red Share for Business Tablet Connections. A customer with a Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection who is in a Daily Roaming Destination and has paid the Daily Roaming fee can use data from their Sharing Group’s Red Share for Business Data Plan, and voice and TXT from their Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection. A customer with a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection who is in a Daily Roaming Destination and has paid the Daily Roaming fee can use data from their Sharing Group’s Red Share for Business Data Plan.

The On Account Roaming Terms and Conditions, as published on our website from time to time, apply to the use of each mobile and data device (“Device”) on a Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection and a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection while overseas.

A summary of the On Account Roaming Terms and Conditions applicable to each Device on a Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection and a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection is set out below. See full roaming terms and conditions.

If a Device on a Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection or a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection is used to roam in selected destinations (each a “Daily Roaming Destination”), the minutes and TXTs included in the Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection and the shared data allowance included in the Red Share for Business Data Plan can be used for a Daily Roaming fee.

If a Device on a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection is used to roam in selected destinations (each a “Daily Roaming Destination”), the shared data allowance included in the Red Share for Business Data Plan can be used for a Daily Roaming fee.

The applicable Daily Roaming Destinations and Daily Roaming fee, from time to time, are published on our website – refer to Daily Roaming overseas.

Minutes and TXTs included in the Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection can be used to call or TXT local numbers in the applicable Daily Roaming Destination, local numbers in New Zealand and local numbers in Australia.

Non Daily Roaming Destinations

If a Device on a Red Share for Business Smartphone Connection or a Red Share for Business Tablet Connection is used to roam in a destination which is not a Daily Roaming Destination (“Non Daily Roaming Destination”):

  1. for calls and TXTs - the rates for calls and TXTs specific to the applicable Non-Daily Roaming Destination, as published on our website from time to time, will apply: see Roaming Rates; and
  2. For data - the terms and conditions of our data roaming service - Data Angel Overseas – applicable to the Non-Daily Roaming Destination, as published on our website from time to time, will apply: see Data Angel overseas and the paragraph below.

11. Interest Free Payments For Business

When you sign up for a Red Share for Business Connection other than a “transfer in only” Connection, then you can elect to take the Interest Free Payments for Business service to pay for the device associated with such Connection. For the avoidance of doubt, Interest Free Payments for Business is only available with a Connection, not a Data Plan. Details of our Interest Free Payments for Business service, and the additional terms that apply, can be found on our website one.nz/businessinterestfreepayment.
