Terms and Conditions

The following terms apply to the following Business Pricing Plans:

These Pricing Plans are also subject to our standard Business Terms.

We have changed the name and added new features to some of our Pricing Plans.  Occasionally, you may see these Pricing Plans referred to under their previous name.

  1. Unlimited Talk and TXT

For Red+ Business Lite, Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, Red+ Business Super, Business Black and Business Black Data Pricing Plans and any Business Basics Pricing Plans that include Unlimited Talk and TXT

Unlimited talk and TXT is for standard person-to-person calls and TXTs to standard NZ numbers and standard Australian numbers. Excludes premium and special numbers in Australia and NZ and use overseas (other than Australia and NZ).  As long as you’re talking to another person, or using your fingers to TXT them, unlimited talk and TXT is for you!  However, unlimited talk and TXT is not for multiple simultaneous calling, re-supply, call centre usage, telemarketing, bulk messaging, application-to-person communication, continuously call forwarding, auto-dialling, machine to machine communication (including by using your SIM card in any other device) Cellular Trunking Units (CTUs), or any other activity that Vodafone considers to be non-standard usage.

Unlimited talk and TXT does not include calls or TXTs to Australian external territories (including Norfolk Island) or satellite services.

  1. Voicemail

For Red+ Business Lite, Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, Red+ Business Super, Business Black, and Business Black Data Pricing Plans: Calls to voicemail are not charged for if you are in New Zealand or Australia. Roaming terms and conditions apply if you are overseas.

For all other Business Pricing Plans:  Calls to voicemail cost 20 cents per call and are not deducted from your included minutes. Roaming terms and conditions apply if you are overseas.

  1. Change fees

If you terminate or change your Pricing Plans before the Pricing Plans term ends, you must pay the applicable fees (these could be early termination, re-sign or plan transfer fees). The fee you pay could be up to 65% of the full standard monthly fee (listed on our website) multiplied by the number of months left in the term.

If you take the Interest Free Payments for Business service you must pay the outstanding amount for Interest Free Payments for Business in full prior to terminating, transferring or re-signing the Connection associated with that service. You also must pay the outstanding amount for Interest Free Payments for Business in full if Vodafone terminates the eligible Connection due to your material breach or insolvency. The payment obligations in this paragraph apply in addition to the other fees mentioned above.

  1. Minute plus Minute charging

For charging and calculation purposes, all calls will be rounded up to the next full minute. These will then be deducted from your included minutes, or you will be charged accordingly. For example, if you make a call for one minute and 40 seconds this call will be rounded up to two minutes and two minutes will be deducted from your allocation, or charged at the appropriate rate.

  1. Restrictions on Data Add-Ons

Customers on the Business Black Pricing Plan are not eligible to purchase data Add-Ons (including 500MB, 1GB, 1.5GB and 2GB data Add-Ons).  You can purchase additional data through Flexi Data. See Flexi Data for more information.

  1. 4G

4G gives you access to faster data speeds enabling you to do your thing faster when you have a 4G device and you're in a 4G coverage area.  If you transfer or re-sign to a Pricing Plan where 4G capability is not included as part of that Pricing Plan, you will lose 4G capability and must purchase a 4G Add-On to continue using 4G.

  1. Coverage

Coverage can be affected by a number of factors, including radio interference, atmospheric conditions, geographic factors, network congestion, maintenance, outages on other networks and provider sites, the configuration or limitations of your, or your intended recipient's, device or other operational or technical difficulties which means that you may not receive some or all of the Service in certain areas or at certain times.

  1. Phone insurance

You must have purchased your phone from us to qualify for Phone Insure.  If you transfer or re-sign to a Pricing Plan where Phone Insure is not included as part of that Pricing Plan, you will relinquish Phone Insure, as it will not automatically carry over to the new Pricing Plan as a chargeable Add-On.  If you wish to continue to receive Phone Insure, you must contact Vodafone to purchase the Phone Insure Add-On.   1. Invoice charging

We reserve the right to charge you a monthly or one off charge for bills sent by post.  No charge applies to bills sent by email.

  1. Support charges

In accordance with our standard Business Terms, we (at our discretion) reserve the right to charge customers on specific Pricing Plans for instore technical support and administration services.  We will inform you of these charges prior to providing the service.  These services may include but are not limited to instore device tutorials, personalisation of device settings, and processing of Bill payments made instore, by Credit Card, or through an assisted channel such as 777 or 888.

  1. New Phone Every Year

For Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, Red+ Business Super, Business Black and Business Black Data Pricing Plans

New Phone Every Year gives you the option to upgrade your phone every 12 months.  New Phone Every Year is only available to Customers signed up to a 24 month term on the Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, Red+ Business Super, Business Black or Business Black Data Pricing Plans.

If you’re on a 24 month term Business Black or Business Black Data Pricing Plan, New Phone Every Year is automatically available to you – it’s included as part of your Pricing Plan.

However, if you’re on a 24 month term Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business or Red+ Business Super Pricing Plan, New Phone Every Year must be purchased as an Add-On during your first month.  The Add-On has a monthly charge of $20 (incl GST), charged initially at the time of activation, then one month in advance at the start of each billing month.  Unless the Add-On is cancelled, the charge will recur monthly until 12 payments have been made.  Payments are not pro-rated, so if the Add-On is activated part way through a month, your next Bill will show a $20 charge for the month in which it was activated and a $20 charge for the next month in advance.  You can cancel the New Phone Every Year Add-On at any time however the $20 monthly payments will not be refunded.

With New Phone Every Year, you have the option to upgrade your phone once you have:

  • remained on the Business Black or Business Black Data Pricing Plan for 12 consecutive months OR remained on the Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business or Red+ Business Super Pricing Plan for 12 consecutive months, purchased the New Phone Every Year Add-On and made 12 consecutive monthly payments of $20 (incl GST);
  • returned to Vodafone for consideration in money of NIL the device you received with that Pricing Plan (or a device of the same type, size and value) OR where you do not return your phone, or it is not in acceptable condition to Vodafone, you will pay Vodafone a compensation payment at an amount determined by Vodafone; and
  • signed up to a new 24 month Pricing Plan.

Your upgraded phone will be the mobile phone you select as part of the entitlement under your new 24 month Pricing Plan. For the avoidance of doubt, that entitlement may incur an additional charge depending on the rebates for that mobile phone available to you at the time. Once your new 24 month Pricing Plan is connected, your previous Pricing Plan will end.  If you sign up to a 24 month Business Black or 24 month Business Black Data Pricing Plan, New Phone Every Year will automatically continue.  If you sign up to a 24 month Red+ Business Essentials, 24 month Red+ Business, or 24 month Red+ Business Super Pricing Plan and you want to continue with New Phone Every Year you’ll need to re-purchase the New Phone Every Year Add-On.

Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business and Red+ Business Super Pricing Plans were previously referred to as Red Business Essentials, Red Business and Red Business Super Pricing Plans. Customers on these Pricing Plans are eligible for New Phone Every Year if they have signed a 24 month term Pricing Plan and made 12 consecutive monthly payments of $20 (incl GST).

Not all Pricing Plans and handsets offered by Vodafone will be eligible for this offer. Vodafone reserves the right to change the Pricing Plans and handsets eligible for this offer at any time at its discretion.

  1. Discounted tablet plans

For 24 month term Red+ Business and Red+ Business Super Pricing Plans

Discounted tablet plans only apply as long as you have a valid Pricing Plan. Discounted tablet plans available on Pricing Plans are not transferable if changing between or from Pricing Plans. If you are not on a valid Pricing Plan we reserve the right to suspend or cancel the relevant discounted tablet plan.  If you have more than one discounted tablet plan per mobile Pricing Plan we reserve the right to disconnect additional discounted tablet plans without notification (however we will endeavour to contact you if this is the case).

  1. Group Calling

Group calling under Pricing Plans means that calls to and from the following business connections which are on the same customer account are zero rated.

Red Share for Business Smartphone Connections

The Group calling benefit is applied at a customer account level and only applies to those connections on the Pricing Plans listed.

  1. Local Number on Mobile

Local Number on a Mobile is only available with select Business Basics and Red+ Business Pricing Plans. When a Local Number is added to your mobile any landline services associated with that number, like broadband or fax, won't be transferred. These features cannot be added on to a mobile number. You will need to contact Vodafone to set up this service.

  1. International Add-Ons

The following International Add-Ons (International Add-Ons) are available to purchase:

You may only purchase one of each type of International Add-On in a billing month.  International Add-Ons are available for use in New Zealand only and cannot be used while roaming.

  1. Interest Free Payments for Business

You may elect to take the Interest Free Payments for Business service to pay for the device associated with a Connection if the Connection is on one of the following Pricing Plans:

  • Business Basics 35
  • Red+ Business Lite
  • Red+ Business Essentials
  • Red+ Business
  • Red+ Business Super
  • Business Black,

or is on a discounted tablet plan as referred to in section 12.

Interest Free Payments for Business is not available with New Phone Every Year (even if New Phone Every Year is included in your Pricing Plan).

  1. VSDM Basic

For Business Basics 35, Business Basics 45, Red+ Business Lite, Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, and Red+ Business Super Pricing Plans

Vodafone Secure Device Manager Basic (VSDM Basic) is included for one device on Business Basics 35, Business Basics 45, Red+ Business Lite, Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, and Red+ Business Super Pricing Plans. Terms and conditions apply, and you will need to contact Vodafone to set up this service. You need to have access to the internet and a supported browser to manage your devices.  Once the service is active you will need to enrol the devices you wish to manage.

Your VSDM Basic licence will enable you to manage one device per Business Basics 35, Business Basics 45, Red+ Business Lite, Red+ Business Essentials, Red+ Business, and Red+ Business Super Pricing Plan.  If you wish to manage additional devices using VSDM Basic, each additional licence will cost $2.50 (GST exclusive) per month.

VSDM Basic can manage a maximum of 50 devices.  If you wish to manage more than 50 devices, you will need to purchase Vodafone Secure Device Manager Full.

  1. VSDM Full

For Business Black Pricing Plan

Vodafone Secure Device Manager Full (VSDM Full) is included for one device on Business Black Pricing Plan. Terms and conditions apply, and you will need to contact Vodafone to set up this service. You need to have access to the internet and a supported browser to manage your devices. Once the service is active you will need to enrol the devices you wish to manage.

Your VSDM Full licence will enable you to manage one device per Business Black Pricing Plan.  If you wish to manage additional devices using VSDM Full, each additional licence will cost $5.00 (GST exclusive) per month.

As part of VSDM Full there is a one-off set up fee of $399 (GST exclusive), to include a web based training session.

  1. Tablet Discount

The Tablet Discount is a tablet subsidy available on the 24 month term Red+ Business, the 24 month term Red+ Business Super, and the 24 month term Business Black Pricing Plans.  The Tablet Discount can only be used as a contribution towards the purchase of a tablet from Vodafone at the recommended retail price at the time of purchase, and only at the time of sign up. It cannot be redeemed at a later date, redeemed for cash, or combined, stacked or pooled with other subsidies or discounts.

The Tablet Discount is not available when transferring to an eligible Red+ Business or Business Black Pricing Plan from another Pricing Plan, where the resulting Red+ Business or Business Black Pricing Plan connection term is less than 24 months.

The tablet subsidy is:

  • $200 (including GST) on the 24 month term Red+ Business Pricing Plan;
  • $400 (including GST) on the 24 month term Red+ Business Super Pricing Plan; and
  • $400 (including GST) on the 24 month term Business Black Pricing Plan.

If you have selected an eligible Pricing Plan and you wish to receive the Tablet Discount, please purchase your Pricing Plan by calling us on 888, going into a Vodafone store or contacting your account manager.  The Tablet Discount is not available for purchases through our website.

If you receive a Tablet Discount and terminate or change your Pricing Plan before the Pricing Plan term ends, you must pay the applicable additional fees (these could be early termination, re-sign or plan transfer fees). Find out more about change fees.

  1. OneDrive for Business Cloud Storage

If your Pricing Plan includes OneDrive for Business then you will receive one subscription licence for Microsoft OneDrive for Business (Microsoft OneDrive for Business). Microsoft OneDrive for Business is part of the Microsoft Office 365 suite of services. Microsoft OneDrive for Business includes access to Microsoft Office 365 online portal, Microsoft Office Online, online file storage service, sync client software, and OneDrive mobile apps. You need to have access to the internet to use Microsoft OneDrive for Business. 

You will need to contact us to set up this service. We will create a Microsoft Office 365 account with the subdomain @yourcompanyname.onmicrosoft.com. You agree that you will be bound by Microsoft’s Online Use Terms

You agree that the privacy statement set out here is applicable to your use of Microsoft OneDrive for Business and your information used in conjunction with the Services.

To the extent permitted by law, Microsoft Corporation (including its affiliates or suppliers) will not be liable to you for any damages, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from the use of Microsoft OneDrive for Business.  This clause is for the benefit of Microsoft Corporation (and its affiliates or suppliers).

Vodafone, and not Microsoft, will provide support to you for Microsoft OneDrive for Business.

Your Microsoft OneDrive for Business subscription licence will end after 24 months, or sooner if:

  • you transfer to a Pricing Plan that does not include a Microsoft OneDrive for Business subscription, in which case it will end at the date of transfer; or
  • your Pricing Plan is terminated, in which case it will end at the date of termination,

(in each case, the Licence End Date).  If you wish to continue using Microsoft OneDrive for Business after the Licence End Date, you can sign up to Office 365 from Vodafone and pay for a Microsoft OneDrive for Business subscription.

If your Microsoft OneDrive for Business subscription licence ends, you have 30 days from the Licence End Date to retrieve data you have stored on Microsoft OneDrive for Business.  Any data remaining on your OneDrive for Business will be permanently deleted by Microsoft 90 days after the Licence End Date.
