Handy features for your home phone

Our home phone features are billed on a monthly basis only. If you want to cancel any of your home phone features, you just need to let us know before the end of the month.

You need to have a Vodafone home phone and calling account to buy any of these additional phone features.

Select how your broadband and phone is connected and then select your feature.

 
ADSL/VDSL

For ADSL/VDSL customers, to add any of these features to your plan log into My Vodafone for Internet & landline, or call us on 0800 438 448. Then follow the guides below to set up and use the calling features.

  1. Sign in to My Vodafone
  2. Select “Phone features” from the left hand menu and choose the feature you’d like to add from the list
  3. The monthly cost will be automatically added to your bill

BestMates for home phone – monthly fee $6 per month

Monthly fee $6.00

Nominate up to five friends or family members, with an NZ mobile or NZ landline, then call them as many times as you like. BestMates for home phone is included for $6 on eligible home phone and broadband packs. Just remember to nominate your five favourite phone numbers.

  • Each call can last for up to 2 hours
  • Calls over 2 hours are charged at 26c per minute for NZ landlines and 36c per minute for NZ mobiles
  • All other calls will be charged at standard per minute rates

When you’re away from your phone or just busy, Voicemail will answer your calls and take messages for you.

Once you’ve added Voicemail for home phone as a call feature, you can set up and record your voicemail greeting, change your PIN, and listen to messages.

Transfer your incoming calls to another number, so you can answer calls to your home phone wherever you are.

Standard calling charges apply if you divert your calls to a mobile phone or to another phone outside your local calling area, including international calling areas, unless you have one of our calling plans where you just pay a monthly fee. These charges are payable by the call diverter, not the caller.

Activate Phone Divert when you’re away from home.  You need to have set up Phone Divert before you can use this feature.

Toll Call Control – Monthly fee $4.09

Manage chargeable calls (calls made outside your calling area, 0900 services and mobile phone calls) made from your home phone.  When Toll Call Control is set activated, no chargeable calls can be made from your phone that aren’t included as part of your plan.

Phone and Faxline – monthly fee $4.09

Monthly fee $4.09

Receive fax and voice calls on one phone line, each with their own phone number and distinct ring. When the phone rings, you’ll be able to distinguish (by the sound of the ring), which is a fax or a phone call. To do this, you’ll need to be allocated a separate number for your fax machine. Call us to arrange your Phone and Faxline for home phone.

Wiring and maintenance - $3.95

Get covered against faults caused by wear and tear problems with internal wiring or sockets.

If you experience a fault that is caused by the wiring in your house, won’t have to pay to have the fault fixed by a technician (otherwise you will be charged).  Any other reasons for faults will be your responsibility to have fixed or repaired and a charge may apply. See who’s calling before you answer the phone, providing you have a compatible phone or a Caller display unit.

Things to know

  • Caller ID also lets you keep track of who has called. As long as the caller stays on the phone so it rings at least twice, the phone or display unit will keep a record of all the people who have called.
  • In some situations, Caller ID can’t show a caller’s number. For example, overseas numbers, payphones and some mobile phones.

  • You will still be able to make calls to 111 emergency services.

Blocking your ID on an outbound call is free and works on a per-call basis. To get permanent blocking, please contact Customer Care on 0508 888 800. In some situations, Caller ID can’t show a caller’s number, for example unlisted and confidential numbers.

With Call Divert, you can control what happens to inbound calls so that if your phone is off, outside of coverage or you don’t answer within 20 seconds, Call Divert sends that call to voicemail, or to another number specified by you.
