Make an automatic payment

An automatic payment from your bank account or credit card is a simple, safe and convenient way to pay your bill. Once it's set up, your monthly bill will be paid automatically on the due date.

How do I set up an automatic payment:

Online
Set up your direct debit online for your mobile or broadband/home phone bill, very quick and easy.

My Vodafone - for mobile
Sign in to My Vodafone and select 'Payment Options' from the navigation menu.

My Vodafone - for broadband/home phone
Sign in to My Vodafone (Internet & landline) and select 'Credit Card Payments' from the left-hand navigation.

Call 777 - if you're a Personal customer
Call 888 - if you're a Business customer

Payment Timeframe: Allow up to 2 working days for the payment to appear on your account.

Note: One-off credit and debit card payments will be charged a 2% convenience fee. Vodafone will consider a credit/debit card payment to be 'one off' if it's not set up as an automatic, recurring monthly payment (even if your credit or debit card details are pre-registered).

To avoid this fee you can set up a automatic payment from your bank or credit card.

You can choose this payment option if you want to make a one-off payment. Simply sign in to your bank's website and follow the prompts on your screen.

Make a payment over the phone

Paying over the phone is quick and easy - all you need is a Visa, Visa Debit card, American Express card or a MasterCard. Make your payment by calling the Vodafone IVR or your bank. You can also choose this payment option to make a one-off payment.

Call your bank: We're set up on all major New Zealand bank systems. Simply follow the voice prompts on your banking system.

Allow a minimum of 2 working days for the payment to appear on your account.

Make a payment via cheque

You can choose this payment option if you want to post us your payment.

How do I make a payment: Send us a cheque in the envelope provided with your bill. Write your complete Vodafone Account Number, located on the top of your bill, on the back of your cheque and enclose the tear-off payment advice from your bill.

New Zealand Post

Looking to pay your bill in person? Take your bill to any of the NZ Post Shop and make your payment by cash, EFTPOS, or cheque.

How do I make a payment: Handover your payment and your current bill to NZ Post Shop. They will process your payment and provide you a receipt.

Payment timeframe: Allow up to 2 working days for the payment to appear on your account.

  • You may notice a $1 authorisation from Vodafone on your online credit card statement. This is not a charge.
  • A late payment fee may be applied to overdue bills.
  • Direct debit payments can be made from your credit card or your bank account.
  • It takes 5-10 business days to set up a direct debit request via post or email.
  • Direct debit payments via credit card that are requested over the phone will be set up immediately.
  • Direct debit payments will occur automatically on the due date and the full invoice amount will be taken.
  • Current or overdue balances will need to be paid via an alternative payment method until the direct debit authority takes effect on your bill's due date.
  • Vodafone currently accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Diners Club.
  • If you want your Vodafone bill to be emailed to more than one email address you need to set up a rule so that when the contact email address gets the bill, it automatically sends it to another email address/es. To find out how to do this, go to the help section in your email service provider, e.g. Microsoft Outlook or Express, etc.
  • You can easily change the way you receive your bill; via email, by post or both, in My Vodafone.
  • If your email bill doesn't arrive you will need to check that your email address is correct. Sign into My Vodafone and click 'manage bill notification'. From there you can correct your notification email address and save the changes. It might pay to check your junkmail folder just in case it has ended up there. If this has happened we suggest you add Vodafone to your safe sender list.
  • Vodafone is PCI compliant, which means we're able to process, store or transmit credit card information in a secure environment without having to keep your credit card details stored in our system. This is standard banking practice, and complies with the Global Credit Card standard.
