Data Angel keeps your data use in check

Data Angel keeps your data use in check and makes it easy for you to keep an eye on how much data you’re using. Data Angel is a smart service that lets you know when your data is about to run out and if it does, you’ll have the option to stop using data on your mobile or buy more right away.

Data Angel is free for Vodafone customers on an eligible Business Smart or Business Smart Data plan. Excludes BlackBerry, Opera Mini, Corporate APN and casual data.

How does it work?

  1. When you use 80% of your data we’ll send you a TXT to let you know
  2. When you use 100% of your data we’ll send you a TXT to let you know and your data session will be stopped
  3. You’ll be sent to a mobile web page where you’ll choose whether to:
    1. Buy a one-off 500MB data Add-On for $12 or
    2. Continue at the casual data rate of 20c per MB
    If you decide not to buy a data Add-On or browse at the casual data rate your mobile data usage will stop until your next billing cycle. You can still use Wi-Fi to connect to the internet.

Important things to know

  • If you choose to purchase a 500MB data Add-On for $12 it will expire at the end of your billing cycle
  • If you choose to continue at the casual data rate of 20c per MB you will be charged at this rate until the end of your monthly billing cycle
  • If you want the convenience of an extra 1GB every month, you can add this at any time for $20 per month in My Account or by calling 888
  • All prices include GST
 

Things to know for BlackBerry, Opera Mini & Corporate APN

A BlackBerry on an eligible Business Smart or Business Smart Data plan

  1. When you’ve used 80% of your monthly data allowance, we’ll send you a TXT to let you know
  2. When you reach 100% we’ll send you another TXT to let you know your data bundle has been used up
  3. The TXT will link you to a mobile webpage where you’ll see that you’re browsing at a casual data rate of 20c per MB. You’ll also find options for buying more data and a number to call if you need help
  4. If you want the convenience of an extra 1GB every month, you can add this at any time for $20 per month in My Account or by calling 888

An Opera Mini browser on an eligible Business Smart or Business Smart Data plan

  1. When you’ve used 80% of your monthly data allowance, we’ll send you a TXT to let you know
  2. When you reach 100% we’ll send you another TXT to let you know your data bundle has been used up and you will stop being able to use data at this point
  3. If you want to keep using data, call us anytime on 888 and we can run through your options to buy more data

If you are using a Corporate APN

Customers on Business Smart, Business Smart Data, Smart or Smart Data plans using a Corporate APN will not receive usage notifications.
