Local Zone terms and conditions

With local zone, when you're at home, your mobile becomes your home phone too. In these terms and conditions we call the zone the footprint of the house at the service address. We do not promise that it will include all of the land surrounding your house or forming part of your property. We call service address the address you have notified us as the address to which the service should be provided.

Eligibility

1. In order to subscribe for the local zone service, you must

  • be on a You Choose On account plan;
  • have a compatible 3G mobile handset; and
  • have a 256k SIM card (256k will be printed on the SIM).

Set Up

Your zone must be at the service address that you have provided to us and this is where you will be using the local

You will be required to establish your zone before the local zone service commences or if your service address changes in accordance with the instructions that we provide to you.

You will not be required to change your mobile number to use the local zone service. Except in a very limited number of cases, you will not be required to change your geographical number as long as you are remaining in your current local calling area. Transferring your geographical number to Vodafone may take up to 30 days, and we will let you know when it has been done.

Sharing your Personal Information

Your zone must be at the service address that you have provided to us and this is where you will be using the local zone service. This must be a physical address, but does not have to be the same as the address that your bills are sent to.

You will be required to establish your zone before the local zone service commences or if your service address changes in accordance with the instructions that we provide to you.

You will not be required to change your mobile number to use the local zone service. Except in a very limited number of cases, you will not be required to change your geographical number as long as you are remaining in your current local calling area. Transferring your geographical number to Vodafone may take up to 30 days, and we will let you know when it has been done.

Charges and Billing

The rates charged for calls using the local zone service will be as set out in the local zone plan that you have subscribed to. When you are in your zone the screen on your handset will indicate this by displaying LZ.

Calls will be charged based on your location at the time you start the call i.e. if you are in your zone when you initiate the call, the call will be charged at the local zone rate regardless of whether or not you stay within your zone for the duration of the call, or if you are outside your zone when you initiate the call, you will be charged at your You Choose mobile rate for the duration of the call, even if you move into your zone part way through the call.

Local zone changes

You must notify us of any change of your service address. If your new address is in a different local area calling code to your original service address, you will be provided with a new geographical number and we may make a charge for this.

Termination of local zone

If you change the service address for local zone and our network at the new service address does not support the local zone service, you may discontinue the service immediately by calling our Customer Services on 0800 189 189. Provided you contact us within thirty days of the change of service address, the local zone service will be cancelled immediately and your current months access fee and any charge made for transfer of the service address will be reimbursed to you.

If you subscribe to the local zone service as a new Vodafone customer and our network at your service address does not support the local zone service, you may discontinue the local zone service by calling our Customer Services on 0800 189 189. Provided you contact us within thirty days of your subscription to the local zone service and there is no more than 10 hours usage, the local zone service will be cancelled immediately and your first months payment will be reimbursed to you. If you are a new Vodafone customer then in these circumstances, you may also terminate your You Choose On Account Plan and your first months subscription will be reimbursed to you.

You may discontinue your subscription to the local zone service at any time by calling Customer Services on 0800 189 189 and giving us a minimum of one months notice. Your subscription to the service will be discontinued one month after receiving your notice. Termination of the local zone service will not affect the continuation of your You Choose On Account Plan.

Other Terms

Unless you tell us otherwise, we will disclose your name, number and address to emergency services to assist them in responding to emergency calls from your number

Vodafones standard on account connection terms and conditions and the terms of your mobile and data plan and any other services you subscribe to will continue to apply.
